How to Play

Rules

Divide the whole grid into rectangles. Every rectangle must contain exactly one number, and that number is the rectangle's area — a 6 can be 1×6, 2×3, 3×2 or 6×1. Rectangles can't overlap, and every cell must be covered.

Controls

Drag from one corner of a rectangle to the opposite corner to draw it — a label shows its size as you drag. Tap a rectangle to remove it, or tap an empty cell to place a 1×1. Drawing over rectangles replaces them. Undo (or Ctrl+Z / ⌘Z) steps back. A rectangle that breaks a rule is outlined in red straight away.

The Picture

Every Quilt hides a pixel-art picture. While you play, your rectangles are plain fabric — finish the board and each piece is dyed its real colour, revealing the picture. Solve without a single undo or removed piece for a Perfect Stitch bonus.

Game Modes
Daily Challenge

One new picture every day, the same for everyone.

Classic Quilt

Play any time: Easy 7×7, Medium 10×10 or Hard 14×14.

Patchwork Run

Timed tiles that join into one big picture.

Tips & Strategy
  • Start with the 1s and with numbers in corners or along edges — they have the fewest possible rectangles.
  • Prime numbers (2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13) can only be a single row or column, so they're quick to narrow down.
  • Look for cells only one number can reach. If a cell is too far from every other number, it must belong to the one nearby.
  • Big numbers next to each other limit each other: try each shape for one and see which leaves room for its neighbour.
  • Think before you draw if you want the Perfect Stitch — any undo or removed piece costs the bonus (but never the puzzle).
Quilt FAQ
What is Quilt?

Quilt is a logic puzzle in the Shikaku style: you divide a grid of numbers into rectangles. When the board is finished, the pieces take on their real colours and reveal a hidden pixel-art picture.

Is there a new Quilt every day?

Yes — one Daily Challenge picture unlocks for everyone each calendar day.

What are the rules, exactly?

Split the whole grid into rectangles (squares count). Each rectangle must contain exactly one number, equal to its area in cells. Rectangles can't overlap and must cover every cell.

How do I draw a rectangle?

Press on one corner cell and drag to the opposite corner, then let go. Tap a rectangle to remove it, or tap an empty cell to place a single-cell rectangle.

Does every puzzle have only one solution?

Yes. Every Quilt is checked by a solver before it's published, so it can always be solved by logic alone — no guessing needed.

Why are my rectangles plain colours while I play?

So the picture can't give the answer away. Each piece is dyed its real colour only when the whole board is solved.

What does a red rectangle mean?

It breaks a rule: it has no number, more than one number, or its area doesn't match its number. Remove it or draw over it.

What is a Perfect Stitch?

Solving a puzzle without using Undo and without removing or replacing any rectangle. It earns a bonus on top of your score.

How is Daily Challenge scoring calculated?

10 points for completing the quilt, a speed bonus (10 points within 3 minutes, 8 within 5, 6 within 10, otherwise 5) and 5 more for a Perfect Stitch.

Does the timer start as soon as the puzzle loads?

No — in Daily Challenge and Classic the timer starts with your first touch of the board, so you can study the numbers first.

Can I fail the Daily Challenge?

No. There's no time limit and you can undo as often as you like — you just lose the Perfect Stitch bonus.

What's the difference between Daily, Classic and Patchwork Run?

Daily is one shared picture per day. Classic lets you play as often as you like at Easy, Medium or Hard. Patchwork Run is a timed set of tiles that join into one bigger picture.

What are the knots and framed numbers in Hard mode?

Knots (sewn buttons) are cells no rectangle may cover. A number in a square frame must be a square; a number in a long pill frame must be a single row or column.

Do I need an account to play?

No — guests can play and earn points too. A free account also unlocks streaks, XP, Rank and Achievements.

Does a new Daily Quilt unlock at the same time for everyone?

It unlocks at your own device's local midnight. Everyone still gets the same picture on the same calendar date.

Can I share my result without spoiling the picture?

Yes — the Daily share text only shows your time, score and Perfect Stitch, never the picture. "Copy Result & Share with Community" and "Share with Friends" are two separate one-time bonuses.

Does playing Quilt count toward my streak?

Yes — completing the Daily Challenge (in any game) advances your daily streak, as long as you play on consecutive calendar days.

What's the Quilt leaderboard based on?

Total points from every Quilt mode for the period you select (Today, Week, Month, Year or All-time).

Does Quilt work on mobile?

Yes — drag with your finger to draw. The page won't scroll while you're dragging on the board.

What's the difference between Points and XP?

Points are per game and drive that game's Level and the leaderboard. XP is a separate currency shared across every game that drives your Overall Level and Rank.
