Game Modes
Daily Challenge

One new grid every day.

Classic

Play anytime at Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulty.

Tournament

Race the clock across multiple puzzles.

Tips & Strategy
  • Scan the grid systematically — row by row, or in a spiral — rather than jumping around at random, so you don't accidentally skip over a word.
  • On most puzzles, words can run in any of 8 directions and be read forwards or backwards — if a word doesn't jump out reading left-to-right, check whether its letters are simply reversed.
  • Look for uncommon letters first, like Q, X, Z, or J — they narrow down where a word could start much faster than scanning for common letters like E or A.
  • Once you've found a few words, the leftover letters start to cluster — the remaining words are usually easier to spot in what's left over.
  • On Classic mode, try Easy first to get a feel for the grid size and word list before moving up to Hard.
Word Search FAQ
Is there a new Word Search puzzle every day?

Yes — Daily Challenge gives everyone the same themed 12×12 grid with 10 words each calendar day.

Which directions can words run in?

On Daily Challenge, Tournament, and Classic Medium/Hard, words can be placed in any of 8 directions — horizontal, vertical, or diagonal — and can always be selected reading either forwards or backwards. Classic Easy only places words horizontally or vertically, to keep it beginner-friendly.

What's the difference between Daily Challenge, Classic, and Tournament?

Daily Challenge is one shared 12×12, 10-word puzzle per day. Classic lets you play any time at Easy (10×10, 6 words), Medium (12×12, 10 words), or Hard (15×15, 10 words). Tournament is a timed run through several puzzles back to back, competing for the best combined result.

Do the puzzles have themes?

Yes — each Word Search puzzle's word list is built around a theme, so the words you're hunting for are usually related to each other.

Do I need an account to play?

No — guests can play and earn points too. A free account additionally unlocks streaks, XP, Rank, and Achievements.

How do I select a word?

Click or tap the word's first letter, drag in a straight line to its last letter, then release. A correct match highlights the whole word immediately.

How is Daily Challenge scoring calculated?

Completing the puzzle earns 25 points, plus a time bonus of 25, 15, or 10 points depending on how quickly you find every word.

Does a new Daily puzzle unlock at the same time for everyone?

No — it unlocks at your own device's local midnight, not one fixed global time. Everyone still gets the same puzzle on the same calendar date.

How does Classic scoring differ by difficulty?

Base completion points scale with difficulty — 10 for Easy, 15 for Medium, 25 for Hard — plus the same time bonus as the Daily Challenge on top of that.

Does the timer start the moment the puzzle loads?

No — for Daily Challenge and Classic, the timer only starts once you make your first selection, so reading the grid over first doesn't cost you any time.

How does Word Search Tournament work?

You solve a series of puzzles back to back, each against its own countdown timer. Finding every word before time runs out passes that puzzle; running out of time fails it. Each puzzle scores points for passing or failing, plus a one-shot completion bonus once you finish the whole run.

Does Tournament mode limit mistakes, like Sudoku does?

No — Word Search has no "wrong answer" to make in the first place, so Tournament puzzles are purely a race against the clock, not a mistake count.

Can I share my Word Search result?

Yes — "Copy Result & Share with Community" and "Share with Friends" are two independent, one-time bonuses you can both claim after finishing a puzzle.

Does playing Word Search affect my streak?

Yes — completing the Daily Challenge (any of the three games, not just Word Search) advances your daily streak, as long as you play on consecutive calendar days.

What's the Word Search leaderboard based on?

Total points earned across every Word Search mode — Daily Challenge, Classic, and Tournament — for whichever period you have selected (Today, Week, Month, Year, or All-time).

Can I win a Word Search Championship?

Yes — the top-scoring Word Search player each day, week, and month is crowned Champion for that period, with tiered badges for repeat wins.

Are there Word Search-specific achievements?

Yes — Level tiers (Expert, Master, Grand Master, based on your lifetime Word Search points) and Championship win-count badges, on top of every game-agnostic achievement Word Search play can also count toward.

Does Word Search work on mobile?

Yes — the grid is fully responsive to touch, so you can drag a word selection with your finger the same way you would with a mouse.

What's the difference between Points and XP?

Points are per-game and drive that game's Level and the leaderboard. XP is a separate, global currency shared across all three games that drives your Overall Level and Rank — earned from Daily Challenge completions, achievements, missions, and sharing, not from Points directly.

How long are the words in a Word Search puzzle?

Between 4 and 9 letters. Each puzzle's word list is chosen ahead of time to match its theme, so the exact mix of short and long words varies from puzzle to puzzle.
