Overview
Daily Mind Challenge ("we", "us", or "the site") offers daily Wordle, Sudoku, Word Search, and Connections puzzles. This page explains what information we collect when you use the site, how it's used, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Account information. You can play as a Guest or with a Registered account. Guest accounts only store a display name you choose — no email or password is required. Registered accounts store a username, display name, and password (handled securely by Firebase Authentication); an email address is optional and only used for password recovery.
Gameplay data. We store the puzzles you've played, your scores, points, streaks, and leaderboard standing, so your progress can be saved and displayed back to you and (where applicable) on public leaderboards.
Usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are visited and how often — so we can improve it. This data is aggregated and not used to individually identify you.
Advertising measurement data. If you accept cookies, we also use the Meta Pixel. It records page views on this site, along with technical details your browser sends (such as the page address, referring page, browser and device information, and IP address), and sets cookies that let Meta link those visits to your Facebook or Instagram account, if you have one. We don't receive your Facebook or Instagram account details from Meta.
Cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Consent Notice for details on what's used and why.
How We Use Information
- To operate core features — saving your progress, scoring, and leaderboards.
- To keep you signed in between visits.
- To understand overall site usage and improve the experience.
- To measure visits to the site and show relevant ads on Meta's platforms, but only if you have accepted cookies.
- To communicate with you if you've provided a recovery email (e.g. for password resets).
Advertising
We use, or intend to use, Google AdSense to display ads on the site. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn more about how Google uses this data, and manage your ad personalization settings, at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
If you accept cookies, Meta uses the Meta Pixel data described above to measure our visits and to show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram. You can manage your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences.
Third-Party Services
The site is built on Google Firebase (authentication, database, and hosting) and Google Analytics. If you accept cookies, we also use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram), to measure visits and show relevant ads on Meta's platforms. The pixel only loads after you click Accept. We don't sell your personal information to third parties. Information may be processed by these providers as part of operating the site, subject to Google's own privacy policy and Meta's privacy policy.
Legal Basis for Cookies and Tracking
Cookies needed to run the site (such as keeping you signed in) are used because they're necessary to provide the service. Analytics, advertising, and the Meta Pixel are used only with your consent, which you give or withdraw through the cookie banner. The Meta Pixel does not load unless you click Accept.
Your Choices
- Cookie banner: you can accept or decline non-essential cookies when you first visit. Declining means the Meta Pixel never runs in your browser.
- Changing your mind: to change your choice, clear this site's stored data in your browser settings. The banner will appear again on your next visit.
- Ad personalization: you can opt out of personalized ads from Google at adssettings.google.com and from Meta at facebook.com/adpreferences.
- Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as staying signed in, from working.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, reach out via the contact details below.
Children's Privacy
Daily Mind Challenge is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
